Head and neck cancer encompasses a wide range of tumors that can develop in serveral areas including the larynx (voice box), tongue, tonsils, neck, oral cavity, nasal cavity, salivary glands, thyroid and parathyroid, as well as skin cancers of the head and neck region. Treating head and neck cancer can be a complex undertaking.

The Jefferson Center for Head and Neck Surgery has created a team of surgeons dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care for patients with these malignant (cancerous) and benign (non-cancerous) tumors and medical issues surrounding them.

Our team of experienced head and neck surgeons, reconstructive surgeons and nurses work collaboratively with specialists in Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology to ensure the highest standard of clinical care, while maintaining patient quality of life, appearance, and preserving functions such as speech, swallowing, taste and hearing.

In our efforts to facilitate excellent care of our patients, we have created both in-patient and out-patient support services to address the needs specific to head and neck cancer patients.

Our highly experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants work exclusively with this patient population. In addition, we have a highly-trained group of nurses specializing in the care of head and neck cancer patients during their hospital stay
